After all the progress of my summer of 96's work, I couldn't wait for warm weather to get back at it. I went to L.A., rented a motorcycle (Harley), packed the saddlebags and did about 30 pieces. I concentrated on the downtown manufacturing area and tried to get all my locations to be in sunlight. The harder shadows, super-saturated colors, and decompressed spaces were real inspiring to me--a refreshing contrast to my usual downtown Manhattan haunts.
